The Decline in Wine Sales in Spain to Decrease Slightly to 2017
Despite the stabilisation of the Eurozone crisis, the sale of wine in Spain will continue to decline to 2017. The market’s value will decline at a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of -0.8%, and volume will decline at a CAGR of -0.6%, between 2012 and 2017. However, these figures are stronger than the growth rate recorded during 2007–2012.
Although overall consumption of alcoholic beverages in Spain is on a declining trend, the decline in wine consumption is forecast to be stronger than the decline in consumption of other alcoholic beverages such as Spirits.
Sparkling Wine is predicted by Canadean experts to show the largest decline in the sector with a value and volume CAGR of -2.0% and -1.4% respectively, to 2017.  This is due to the number of occasions to drink wine stagnating.
